Puppy Preschool

PosiPup offers a private Puppy Start Right Preschool program instead of group classes. This is great for puppies not yet ready for public spaces, due to vaccination status or any number of other considerations. PosiPup is here to teach you about all things puppyhood, prevention management, and basic foundation training from the comfort of your home and on your schedule. We have two, convenient options: virtual training and in-person/virtual hybrid training. This approach allows us to keep our Puppy Start Right Preschool prices close to group prices, while providing personal, one-on-one attention.

Virtual Preschool – $59

• The complimentary ebook version of Puppy Start Right: Foundation Training for the Companion Dog by Dr. Kenneth Martin and Debbie Martin (details in Orientation video)
• Orientation video with a reading homework assignment
• All four classes from the Puppy Start Right Preschool curriculum via video:
  1. Health & Handling
     – Training Topic: Sit
     – Problem Solving & Prevention Topics: Handling and restraint (at vet’s office/ groomer’s), house training, crate training
  2. Wheels & Children’s Toys
     – Training Topic: Loose-leash walking
     – Problem Solving & Prevention Topics: Digging, counter surfing, independence training
  3. Obstacles & Sounds
     – Training Topic: Leave it, drop it
     – Problem Solving & Prevention Topics: Play biting & mouthing, food bowl exercises, “gotcha” game (collar grab)
  4. Costumes and Appearances
     – Training Topic: Recall
     – Problem Solving & Prevention Topics: Jumping, chewing, spay/neuter
• Homework: Reading assignments from the book and training exercises that are to be implemented before watching the next consecutive class video. 
• Elimination/Activity Log and Socialization Checklist
• Unlimited email support for four weeks from your purchase date. You can ask questions pertaining to the training and prevention topics, show videos of you and your puppy, or ask for advice–PosiPup is here to help! (response within 2 business days, emails are not for emergency situations)
• After completing all four classes, your pup will be awarded a graduation certificate (via PDF for virtual classes). We would love to put your pup on our social media to show off the new graduate!

Hybrid Preschool – $100

• All of the benefits of Virtual Preschool, plus…
• 2 in-home lessons (up to 1 hour)
• 2 virtual lessons* (up to 30 minutes)
• A packet of handouts and a clicker
• Your pup will also get a certificate of completion when they graduate from Puppy Start Right Preschool!

*You can opt for 2 additional in-home lessons instead of the 2 virtual lessons, starting at $50 extra. The in-person price reflects being within 20 minutes of East Asheville
