About Your Trainer
Dana Motyka, VSA-Certified Dog Trainer
Hey there! I’m Dana, lead dog trainer and founder of PosiPup. I’ve had a life-long love for animals – especially dogs! – and I’m incredibly lucky to get to work with them every day. I started as a Puppy Start Right Preschool Instructor and have gone on to graduate from the prestigious Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training & Behavior. My training approach is reward-based and all about positive reinforcement, making sure your pup is set up for success while learning new behaviors without using force or intimidation. Whether it’s basic manners or more complex behavioral issues, I’ve got the tools to help your dog become the best version of themselves. But it’s not just about the dogs – it’s also about the person or family at the other end of the leash. I understand the joys and challenges that come with being a pet parent. I’m here to guide and support you through every step of the training process, building trust and understanding between you and your dog. Let’s embark on this fun and positive journey together, and watch your pup flourish!
I am based in east Asheville and serve the Western North Carolina region. Not only am I dedicated to helping pet parents, but I’m also committed to giving back to my community and animals in need. You’ll often find me volunteering at Animal Haven of Asheville and Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, where I donate my time to aid each organization’s mission and help rescue animals find their forever homes. When I’m not busy transforming dogs into their best selves, I love spending quality time at home with my amazing husband and our two adorable rescue dogs, Marshall & Josey, who are my best teachers!
